The Wedding Nest is an online gift registry which allows new brides (and grooms) to collate a list of registry items completely online, and share a link to the list where wedding guests can purchase or put money towards gifts for the wedding. The site owners are interior designers and stylists so clients can purchase gifts all based on themes or even book a private consultation. The site is a Drupal eCommerce CMS platform.
The Challenge
The new owner of The Wedding Nest website approached Equilibrium for a revamp, as much of the site was seriously outdated. It needed to be responsive and the homepage redesigned completely to support SEO and make it more accessible. Keeping the site on Drupal and working with the existing code and database was determined to be the best option—but with a UX and UI overhaul to give TWN a fresh new look and better experience for their clients and customers.
The Outcome
Equilibrium redesigned the UX and UI of The Wedding Nest to help introduce a sense of style more inline with the TWN team’s vision and aesthetic, create a better user experience and make the site mobile and SEO-friendly. We performed security and performance updates on the existing Drupal platform, plus implemented new ‘Buy it now’ functionality with brand new shopping cart, and updated search and browse algorithms to enhance the shopping and bridal registry experience.
It was a pleasure to work with the team at Equilibrium. From the moment the brief was taken, they understood exactly what I wanted and needed, with some great suggestions along the way.
We now have a website that is not just extremely pleasing to the eye but easy to navigate for clients and guests, plus there are so many new features that can be implemented to improve the business.
